The degree of insulation
The main difference between a living greenhouse and a veranda is the degree of insulation. A veranda is very well insulated, allowing the indoor temperature to be easily regulated. The feeling in a veranda is therefore very similar to that of a home.
A living greenhouse, on the other hand, is not insulated, making the indoor climate more sensitive to weather conditions. In the winter, it can be very cold, and in the summer, very warm. Additionally, moisture can develop in the greenhouse during very hot, cold, or wet weather.
The intended use
If you wish to enjoy your covered oasis of peace in complete comfort all year round, it is best to purchase a veranda. If the space is only intended for setting up a table and chair to relax when the weather is nice, you can opt for a living greenhouse.
Design and interior
There are also several differences between a living greenhouse and a veranda in terms of design and interior:
- A veranda is built onto a house, while a living greenhouse is usually freestanding.
- A veranda is larger, allowing you to enjoy more space to move than in a greenhouse.
- A veranda can be furnished more luxuriously with carpets, furniture, plants, etc. This is less straightforward with a greenhouse.
- A veranda is custom-made according to the customer’s wishes, while greenhouses usually come in standard versions.
