Storm damage to your greenhouse. What now?

Storms, thunderstorms, hailstorms... Mother Nature causes a lot of damage to buildings. What should you do if your garden greenhouse is damaged? We will help you on your way with our step-by-step plan.

Do you have damage to your greenhouse, for example after a storm? It is very important to gather evidence. Take plenty of clear photos of the (storm) damage. This will help you avoid disputes with your insurer later on.

2. Prevent further damage

Repair broken windows as soon as possible. Strong winds circulating inside the greenhouse can cause even more panes to break. Therefore, try to cover the broken windows as quickly as possible. Use sturdy film or wooden boards.

3. File a claim

File a damage claim with your insurer as soon as possible. This claim can usually be submitted online.

Include your photos as well. Do you have questions or need help completing the file? Please contact your insurance agent.

4. Request quotes

Do not have your greenhouse repaired immediately. Request a quote first!

Contact us via info@janssens.be. Based on your photos, you will receive a quote as soon as possible.

5. Have the repairs carried out

Once your insurer has given approval, you can have the repairs carried out.

Afterwards, send all invoices, bills, and correspondence to your insurer. They will use these to determine the compensation.

Prevention is better than cure

Always close all windows and doors of your greenhouse during a storm or strong winds. If the wind is allowed to enter freely, the entire greenhouse could even be ripped from its foundation.

Forewarned is forearmed. Do not let yourself be caught off guard, both before and after the storm!
